What's The Story

Each of us have friends, neighbors, and family members who have been effected by the recent economic downturn. We know that hard times are trying, but also provide us with opportunities to rise above them, especially when we focus on what we have rather than what we lack. Most of us have been blessed with steady income and good health. To lose either one of these is challenging, but to lose both is a severe trial.
The father of this family has been out of work for almost two years now. When Bill was laid off, he lost his health and life insurance too. At that time he was battling prostate cancer, and had not completely finished the treatment. Then at the beginning of this year he had to have emergency surgery and was diagnosed with terminal Pancreatic Cancer. He has been given only months to live. Bill will leave behind his wife and their grown son who is disabled and confined to a wheelchair and requires a lot of help and care, along with a lot of medical bills among other debt. They have had to hire someone to help take care of Jason, which they have never had to do before. This is a family who lives locally and is always looking for ways to improve our community. Bill is a very hard worker and it has been very hard for him not being able to work and support his family.
We are asking for donations for this family, so that they may try to pay some of their bills and medical debt that they are acquiring. You can donate at any US Bank or America First Credit Union under the Bill and Sandy Dain Fund. Or, you can mail a check made out to The Bill and Sandy Dain Fund to:
